About
We're building the interface layer for the world's patents.
Plain-English patent explanations for engineers, founders, and inventors.
The world's patents are public. They're also nearly unreadable. Most patent databases were built to satisfy lawyers and archivists — not to help curious people, engineers, or founders actually understand what a given invention does, where its protection ends, and why it matters.
PatentBrief is a different kind of patent site. Every page is built around three things every reader actually wants: a one-sentence summary in plain English, a side-by-side breakdown of what the patent covers versus what it doesn't, and a short explanation of what was actually clever about the invention.
I'm Sahi, a 16-year-old builder based in Phoenix, AZ. I built PatentBrief because I kept running into patents while doing research — and found them completely impenetrable. I wanted a place where anyone could understand a landmark patent in five minutes. So I built it.
If there's a patent you'd love to see explained, a partnership you'd like to explore, or anything else on your mind — reach out directly.
PatentBrief is not a law firm. Nothing on this site is legal advice. Consult a registered patent attorney for legal guidance.
